  • Chair of the Rural Economic Development Caucus.
  • Helped draft and pass Vermont’s GMO labelling bill, the first such bill in the nation.
  • Supported legislation that gives greater local control to towns regarding the siting of wind energy production.
  • Helped draft and pass legislation that improves access to life-saving Narcan therapy and treatment programs for opiate addiction.
  • Supported a process for screening and treating opiate addicts in the criminal justice system before trial.
  • Helped draft and pass the Farm to Plate bill, which has proven to support small farms and increase nutritious foods in our schools.
  • Member of the Governor’s Snowmobile Council.
  • Helped draft and pass the DLS bill, which helped correct a system of accumulating fines that left one in six Vermonters without a valid driver’s license.
  • Voted to override Governor Douglas’ veto of the Marriage Equality act in his first session as legislator.
